Community Engagement
Socially Responsive
At Riverside Center for Spiritual Living we practice spiritually-motivated social engagement. We advocate for what we stand for, while at the same time addressing injustices. We partner with other groups to address immediate needs, as well as work to eliminate the root causes of social inequities.
Our Current Initiatives
Our current initiatives focus on supporting women and children escaping domestic violence.
Local Community Partnerships
Downtown Area Neighborhood Alliance: Works to preserve and enhance Downtown Riverside and provides a forum to advocate for the concerns and ideas of residents and business owners.
Inland Congregations United for Change: We partner with ICUC for a variety of social initiatives including census and meeting with local government officials to effect positive change in the Inland Valleys.
Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity: Working at the intersection of spirituality and social movements, IM4HI mobilizes congregations to take a stand on issues of social justice like immigration and mass incarceration.
Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center: We provide pastoral care services, euthanasia accompaniment, pet memorial services and pet blessings in cooperation with Mary S. Roberts.
Riverside Interfaith Council: Reverend Jeffrey is a member of the Riverside Interfaith Council, which is dedicated to building relationships and connections across faiths in Riverside to create a stronger, healthier community.
Sylvia’s Serenity Homes: Provides safe temporary supportive housing for women and children escaping domestic violence situations.
